Google reviews
How to get more Google reviews without chasing anyone.
Most customers will leave a review if you ask at the right moment and make it one tap. Here is what the 2026 numbers show, what to send, what Google doesn't allow and how every customer gets asked without you remembering.
A review request after every job, a reply to every review, and a profile that shows you are busy right now.
How do you get more Google reviews?
Ask every customer, right after the job, with a direct link to your review form, and reply to every review you get. Asking works: in BrightLocal's 2026 Local Consumer Review Survey, 83% of people who were asked to leave a review went on to leave one. Recent reviews count most with buyers: 74% look for reviews written in the last three months, and 89% expect the owner to respond. Google's policy bans offering anything in exchange for a review and asking only the customers you expect to be happy, so the safe way is also the simple one: ask everyone.

When is the best time to ask for a review?
The same day the job is finished, while the customer still remembers your tech's name and how it felt to have the problem fixed. A request that arrives a week later competes with everything else in their week.
What should the review request say?
Short, personal and one tap. A text works best for most service businesses.
Use their name and the job. "Hi Maria, thanks for having us out to fix the water heater today."
Ask plainly. "Would you leave us a quick Google review? It takes about a minute."
Send the direct link. Copy it from your Business Profile with Ask for reviews, so it opens the review form itself.
Send it once, then one reminder at most. More than two messages reads like chasing.
How should you reply to reviews?
Reply to every review, good and bad, within a few days. In BrightLocal's 2026 survey, 19% of consumers expect a reply the same day and 81% within a week. Thank happy customers by name and mention the job. For a bad review, apologize once, say what you will do and take the details offline.
What does Google not allow when you ask for reviews?
Google's policy for reviews on Maps names these, among others.
- Offering payment, discounts, free goods or services in exchange for a review.
- Asking only the customers you expect to be happy, or discouraging negative reviews.
- Asking staff to collect a set number of reviews.
- Reviews from current or former employees, which Google treats as a conflict of interest.

Questions owners ask
How many Google reviews does a business need?
Enough that the newest ones are recent. In BrightLocal's 2026 survey, 74% of consumers look for reviews written in the last three months, so a steady flow beats a big burst.
Can I ask for reviews by text?
Yes. A short text with your direct review link, sent the day of the job, is the easiest way for most customers to leave one.
Should I reply to bad reviews?
Yes, calmly and once: apologize, say what you will do and move the details to a call. Future customers read the reply as much as the review.
Can I offer a discount for a review?
No. Google's policy bans offering payment, discounts, free goods or services in exchange for a review.
Where do I find my review link?
In your Google Business Profile, choose Ask for reviews and copy the link it gives you.
How fast can it start?
We set it up for you in 48 hours, and the next finished job gets its review request.
What if it does not pay for itself?
If the jobs it books in your first 30 days don't cover your first month, we keep running it free until they do. The written terms are on the plans page.
